3. Which of the following are true assumptions underlying linear regression?

Is there a choices?

Which of the following are true assumptions of linear regression?

There are four assumptions associated with a linear regression model:

1. Linear relationship: There exists a linear relationship between the independent variable, x, and the dependent variable, y.2. Independence: The residuals are independent. In particular, there is no correlation between consecutive residuals in time series data.3. Homoscedasticity: The residuals have constant variance at every level of x.4. Normality: The residuals of the model are normally distributed.

What is Linear regression?

Linear regression is a useful statistical method we can use to understand the relationship between two variables, x and y. However, before we conduct linear regression, we must first make sure that four assumptions are met

4. It is important to understand the assumptions underlying the use of any quantitative analysis model. What are the assumptions and requirements for an LP model to be formulated and used?

Answer:

In a linear program (lp) , we want to maximize or minimize a linear objection function of a set of continuous, real variables subject to a set of linear equalities and inequalities.

The use of linear functions implies the following assumptions about the LP model:

1) Proportionality

The contribution of any decision variable to the objective function is proportional to its value.

For example in the diet problem, the contribution to the cost of the diet from one pound of apples is $0.75, from two pounds of apples its $1.50 and from four pound the contribution is $3.00. For four hundred pounds, the contribution would be $300.00.

In many situations, you might get a volume discount such that the price per pound goes down if you purchase more apples. These discounts are often nonlinear, which that a linear programming model is either inappropriate or is really an approximation of the real world problem.

2) Additivity

The contribution to the objective function for any variable is independent of the other decision variables. For example in the NSC production problem, the production of P2 tons of steel in Month 2 will always contribute $4000 P2 regardless of how much steel is produced in Month 1.

Proportionality and Additivity are also implied by the linear constraints. In the diet problem, you can obtain 40 milligrams of protein for each gallon of milk you drink. It is unlikely, however, that you would actually obtain 400 milligrams of protein by drinking 100 gallons of milk. Also, it may be the case due to a chemical reaction, you might obtain less than 70 milligrams of Vitamin a by combining a pound of cheese with a pound of apples. Thus, the LP model is really just an approximation of what really happens.

3) Divisibility

Since we are using continuous variables, the LP model assumes that the decision variables can take on fractional variables. Thus, we could a solution to the GT Railroad problem that sends 0.7 locomotives from Centerville to Fine Place. In many situations, the LP is being used on a large enough scale that one can round the optimal decision variables up or down to the nearest integer and get an answer that is reasonably close to the optimal integer solution. For example, if an LP for a production plan said to produce 12,208.4 widgets, we can be probably produce 12,209 and be close to an optimal solution. As we will discuss later in the semester, problems in which some or all the variables must be integers are generally speaking much hard to solve than LPs.

Divisibility also implies that the decision variables can take on the full range of real values. For example, in the tennis problem, the LP may tell you bet $19.123567 on player A to win the match. Again, most of the problems we will encounter in this course are on a large enough scale that some rounding or truncating of the optimal LP decision variables will not greatly affect the solution.

4) Certainty

The LP model assumes that all the constant terms, objective function and constraint coefficients as well as the right hand sides, are know with absolute certainty and will not change. If the values of these quantities are known with certainty, for example the demand data given in the NSC may be forecasts that might not be 100% accurate, then this assumption is violated.

7. need help: assumptionThe impact of using online application during pandemic to the academic performance of all GAS students

Answer:

It is important to note that making assumptions without proper evidence and research can be misleading and inaccurate.

However, if we assume that the statement is true, we can make the following assumptions:

1. Online applications may have a positive impact on the academic performance of GAS students as it provides them with access to educational resources and materials that may not be available in traditional classrooms.

2. On the other hand, online learning may also have a negative impact on the academic performance of GAS students due to various factors such as lack of social interaction, technical difficulties, and distractions at home.

3. The impact of online learning on the academic performance of GAS students may vary depending on individual student's learning preferences, access to technology, and support from teachers and parents.

It is important to conduct proper research and gather data to validate or refute these assumptions before making any conclusion

I hope it helps! Goodluck!

Answer: This is called a mixed-methods study

Explanation: The use of online applications during the pandemic has had a significant impact on the academic performance of GAS students. While it has provided flexibility and convenience, it has also presented challenges such as technical difficulties and a lack of face-to-face interaction.

10. what is underlying assumption

Explanation:

Underlying assumptions are the source of values in a culture and what causes actions within the organization. Organizational assumptions are usually “known,” but are not discussed, nor are they written or easily found. They are comprised of unconscious thoughts, beliefs, perceptions, and feelings (Schein, 2004).

11. it is a careful analysis of argument to determine what is said how well points are made what's assumption underlying the argument

Answer:

A critique is a careful analysis of an argument to determine what is said, how well the points are made, what assumptions underlie the argument, what issues are overlooked, and what implications are drawn from such observations. It is a systematic, yet personal response and evaluation of what you read.

13. Importance of following the underlying assumptions of accounting in an organization

Answer:

Key accounting assumptions state how a business is organized and operates. They provide structure to how business transactions are recorded. If any of these assumptions are not true, it may be necessary to alter the financial information produced by a business and reported in its financial statements.

Explanation:

The purpose of having accounting assumptions is to provide a basis of consistency that the readers of the financial statements can use for evaluating the genuineness of the financials of a company and confirming its financial wellbeing depicted in the same.
